The number one problem that women experience is dandruff. When you are wearing dark shirts and you see all these white flakes on your shoulders, this may be caused by dandruff or pityriasis. Dandruff makes cause your scalp to become itchy and irritated. Redness and bad odour are also associated with it. This scalp problem is a result of infection. How do you treat dandruff? If it is mild, you can always buy over-the-counter shampoo and conditioner.
Dry and oily scalps are also some of the most common issues out there. Dry scalp is sometimes misidentified with dandruff. The thing is that dry scalp can lead to itchy scalp and flaking, but dry scalp flakes are smaller. Also, it is not accompanied by bad odour, unlike dandruff. Oily scalp is a condition where the scalp produces excessive sebum. How do you treat dry or oily scalp? Deep hair conditioning and massage can do the trick. Use shampoo and rinse with warm water. Then apply conditioner only on the rips of your hair. Always make sure that you have washed your hair. If you have an oily scalp, after rinsing with warm water, rinse your hair again with cool water so it can close down scalp pores.
Scalp acne breakout is also a common condition especially to those who experience breakouts often. Scalp acne is usually associated with an oily scalp. How do you treat scalp acne? You can opt to use cleansers with salicylic acid. Do not use Benzoyl peroxide as this may discolour your hair. Only apply the cleanser on the acne area and rinse well.
If your scalp problem continues to exist, go to your doctor for consultation as scalp problems may become really serious if not treated. If you have a healthy scalp, then there is no problem why your hair will not grow beautiful.
